Expedient access to branched allylic silanes by copper-catalysed allylic substitution of linear allylic halides.
An unprecedented copper-catalysed allylic transposition enables the regioselective synthesis of branched allylic silanes from linear allylic halides through direct C-Si bond formation.

The transition metal-catalyzed allylic substitution of unactivated allylic substrates (allylic alcohols, allylic ethers and allylic amines) is rapidly becoming an important area of research. There are several advantages to using these substrates in allylic substitution reactions: the use of unactivated alcohols minimizes the production of waste by-products and reaction steps; and allylic ethers...
متن کاملCatalytic asymmetric rearrangement of allylic N-aryl trifluoroacetimidates. A useful method for transforming prochiral allylic alcohols to chiral allylic amines.
[reaction: see text] A useful method for the conversion of prochiral allylic alcohols to chiral allylic amines of high enantiopurity is reported. N-(4-Methoxyphenyl)trifluoroacetimidates are excellent substrates for the palladium(II)-catalyzed allylic imidate rearrangement as the allylic trifluoroacetamide products can be deprotected in two steps to provide chiral nonracemic allylic amines. Di-...
متن کاملMultifaceted catalysis approach to nitrile activation: direct synthesis of halogenated allyl amides from allylic alcohols.
Allyl amides were synthesised from the reaction of allyl alcohols and halogenated nitriles using a platinum multifaceted catalysis approach in which both the nucleophilic addition and subsequent [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement steps of the process were catalysed by the same complex. Additionally, (1)H/(13)C{(1)H} NMR and GC studies provided the first insights into the mechanism of this transfor...
متن کاملConversion of Methyl Oleate to Branched-Chain Derivatives
Studies were conducted in the synthetic conversion of oleic acid to mid-chain branched fatty acids. Methyl oleate was brominated in the allylic positions. Reaction of the allylic bromides with lithium dimethylcuprate gave primarily the desired branched-chain derivatives (93% of product mixture). The product had a significantly lower crystallization temperature in comparison with methyl oleate. ...
